Welcome to the University of Windsor's School of Computer Science. The School is a dynamic and exciting place to learn about computer science and information technology. The University of Windsor is a medium-sized university that offers a personal environment and it is located in one of Canada's best climates. Windsor, Essex County and the Metropolitan Detroit area offer a wide variety of attractions and activities for everyone.
The School of Computer Science is a mid-sized school which began in 1970 with five faculty members and two degree programs - the Bachelor of Computer Science (General) and the Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours). Since that time, many new undergraduate degree programs have been established, as well as, a Master of Science in Computer Science degree program and, more recently, a Ph.D. in Computer Science degree program. This expansion has succeeded in attracting excellent students and the School has evolved into a comprehensive department, focussed on both teaching and research excellence.
Our mission is to prepare students, through the sharing of knowledge and technologies, to solve the computer science problems of today and tomorrow using a variety of analytical, scientific and personal skills. The School operates a dedicated, state-of-the-art computer network and software-development equipment in order to enhance the learning environment for the students.
