
The School of Computer Science is now offering three different undergraduate programs for Computer Science students.
The Bachelor of Computer Science for University Graduates [General] is an accelerated program for students who already have a primary degree in a discipline other than Computer Science. This program allows full-time students to earn an undergraduate degree in a short period of time, allowing some students to earn their degree in as little as twelve months. This degree program in Computer Science specifically created to serve the needs of new immigrants and University graduates seeking to enhance their employment opportunities and make their primary degree more marketable. The School is also pleased to announce the introduction of the Game Development Specialization and Applied Computing within the Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) degree program.
The Game Development Specialization enriches the experience with a focus on topics relevant to Computer Game Development such as Artificial Intelligence for Computer Games, Graphics, Multimedia, Team-Oriented Game Development and a game development capstone project in the final year. This program provides a solid foundation for entry level positions in the rapidly growing Game Industry and related industries.
The objective of the four year Applied Computing Program is to provide students with state-of-the-art tools and technology in Computer Science and hands-on experience in the development of software. Through an active and collaborative learning approach, this program will enhance the students’ learning experience by offering practical industry-oriented courses emphasizing problem solving skills, IT skills, techniques and tools that industry demands.
