Spotlight: Lawrence Barsanti

Lawrence Barsanti graduated this spring with an Honours degree in Computer Science. As an undergraduate student, Lawrence was quite active in research. He has co-authored three publications, two in the area of cluster and grid scheduling with Dr. Sodan (at the IEEE CCGrid conference in Singapore and at the Tier 1 workshop on Job Scheduling Strategies for Parallel Processing in France, Springer) and one publication in the area of Natural Language Processing with Dr. Tawfik (at the IFIP World Computer Conference in Chile).

In addition to these publications, Lawrence will be financially supported by Dr. Sodan in order to attend the workshop in France to present their joint paper. Lawrence's excellent research contributions have landed a job as a software developer for Tessonics (founded by Dr. Maev, Physics). Lawrence plans to continue working with Dr. Maev, Tessonics and the University of Windsor to pursue a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
