C.I. Ezeife, "Problem Solving and Programs with C", a book published by Nelson Thomson Learning Ltd., August 2003, 2nd edition (used to teach C programming to 1st year class), isbn 01764119X. Book comes with electronic copy of laboratory manual, book chapter programs, laboratory solutions and lecture slides.

C.I. Ezeife, "Problem Solving and Programs with C", a book published by Nelson Thomson Learning Ltd., August 2002, first edition (used to teach C programming to 1st year class), isbn 0-17-623040-8.

Ezeife, Christie I. "Problem Solving, Programs, and Computers", published by Harcourt Brace of Canada, first edition, 2000, isbn 0-7747-3732-8.  This is an excellent book for first year Computer Science students which teaches programming by first emphasizing on developing problem-solving skills and methods rather than focusing on specific programming language syntax.  The objective is to  to be able to provide detailed algorithmic solutions (prgram level detail) to problems using top-down design approach to problem solving and program logic structures of sequential, function calls, decision and repetition as well as advanced data structures (arrays, files, binary trees, hashing and linked lists). This  book and its earlier versions, have been used to successfully teach first year class (60-140) with an enrolment of around 600 students yearly in this department for a number of years. For more details regarding the book, send a mail to Harcourt through cs_canada@harcourt.com or to me at cezeife@uwindsor.ca.
