CS141 - Introduction to Algorithms and Programming II

The final unofficial grades are posted here. If you have any questions please come to the exam viewing time from 3:30pm to 5:30pm on Tuesday April 17.

There will be a tutorial scheduled on Thursday April 5 from 2:30pm to 3:30pm in Lambton Tower 3105 (Seminar room behind PC lab).

Midterm 1 will be on Thursday Feb 2, 2012 in class. Topics will cover functions, recursion, and all aspects of arrays (1D, 2D, search, sort, etc..). Closed book. Short answers.

Lab Exam 1: Week of Jan 23.
What to expect?
The exam is open book and on the computer. You must use the computer in the lab. You should come on time as you will not be given extra time at the end. When the lab exam starts you will receive a question sheet. Write your name/id and circle your section number. Read the instructions carefully and code. Remember to document and design your solution carefully. When you are done you have to create a script file as per the instructions given and use your uwin webmail account to email the code and script file as an attachment to the email account given with the subject we specify for you. You MUST document your code to get graded, you MUST return the question sheet to your instructor before leaving else you will receive a zero.
How to prepare?
Review your previous labs. The question will be basically setup in the following way: you will be given a main that calls some functions. You are asked to write the program that includes these functions. The functions would involve passing an array (1D or 2D) to it and doing something with it.
Had to miss your lab exam for a valid excuse?
If you miss your lab section exam for a legitimate reason (bring valid note as per senate bylaws) you may write the exam of another lab section if one is still available with the permission of the lab instructor. If you miss all the lab sections then you will get 0 on the lab exam. There is no make-up on a different week. More serious cases should be referred to me.
