Intelligent Information Integration

Web sites are providing not only data that can be browsed, but also database that can be queried, and programs and agents that can be run. There is an increasing demand for web sites, especially search agents that are customized to individual user preferences, that can reuse existing web capabilities, and that can be created without programming expertise.

Towards the goal of automating the generation of integrated web sites, I have been working on the following:

	Defining a Web Capability Description Language (WCDL), to describe the functional capabilities as well as the details of the web sites to be integrated.
	Constructing a modeling technique to let a user to capture the web capability in WCDL.
	Synthesizing a meta form using the capabilities described in WCDL.
	Rewriting the queries in meta form based on individual web capabilities.
