Please note that midterm one will take place on Wednesday May 23 in class starting at 11:30am. You will have 80 minutes to
complete the test. There will be no lecture following the test. The test will cover all the concepts discussed in class
including: I/O (scanner, print, println), String, basic number and currency formatting, Math methods, basic class design
and OO concepts (constructor, overloaded constructor, set/get methods, predicate/helper/utility methods, toString, new,
class vs object...). You are strongly encouraged to read chapters 1 to 4 and complete labs 1 and 2(a and b) and assignment 1
before the test. Also practice the tracing examples shown in the tutorial section. The test is closed book.
After the test please start reading chapters 5 and 6.
The labs start May 10. Please make sure you are registered in the lab section in addition to the lecture section. Attendance is mandatory. Please inform the lab instructor in advance if you are going to miss a lab in order to arrange a make up. The office hours of the lab instructor/GA are Tuesday: 1pm-3:50pm in the Java Lab.
